Soooo, I’m trying this new thing where I want to start using ALL natural….well everything!! I am slowly making the transition and trying to find new alternatives that I love. (I’m talking everything from skincare, toothpaste and even deodorant!)

I’ve always been attracted more to natural foods/skincare, but right now I want to completely cut out the chemicals and give my body and skin a break!

So I will be sharing with you my natural beauty secrets over the coming weeks, and I would LOVE to hear some of your brand/product suggestions too! Please message me (via the “contact me” tab on my blog!) and let me know your faves.

Right now I am loving Dr Bronner’s Magic Soaps! They are organic and compleeeeetely free of any harsh chemicals. The main base ingredient in most of their soaps is organic coconut oil (which is my weakness) and hemp oil. They are then each infused with different essential oils that carry different properties.

I am using the Lavender Liquid Soap for my body & the Tea Tree Bar Soap for my  face. I have to say… they foam like a dream!!! Especially considering there are no sulphates! I actually think these foam better than some of my natural shower gels from Lush and Fresh Line Cosmetics.

They even have an unscented “baby-mild” formula which replaces the natural fragrance with olive oil for extra moisture!  They actually leave your skin soft and not uncomfortably tight like a lot of soaps! These are definitely my fave soaps I have EVER tried and I will report back as to whether the tea tree soap keeps my skin clear 🙂

Im dying to try the rest of them!! They actually say 18-uses-in 1 as you can use these soaps as laundry detergent, shampoo, body wash, face wash etc etc!

Spritz Your Way to Better Skin!

So here’s the deal. Caring for your skin mornings and evenings is definitely a must but what about the rest of the day?

As your skin becomes overheated-which happens easy to me in busy days rushing around like a crazy person :)- your pores tend to enlarge and this is when makeup/dirt can become trapped and cause dull and problematic skin, as well as blackheads.

By spritzing natural toners on the face throughout the day (over makeup), this can close the pores and keep the skin calm and hydrated.
I have had less breakouts with doing this for sure!

As I am always suuuuper busy, I’m on the lookout easy-peasy ways to tone and hydrate my face.
A few months ago, I stumbled upon “Anatomicals Spray Misty for Me Facial Spritz” and I have to say: this.stuff.is.incredible!
It has lived in my purse ever since!

It actually contains a mix of lavender, aloe, peppermint and rose. These are gorgeous natural ingredients for the skin that provide fabulous benefits.

The lavender is ultra-calming and fights bacteria.
Aloe has been found to heal soo many types of skin disorders and improve cell turnover.
Rose is amazing for nourishing, toning and tightening the skin; protecting it from aging.
Peppermint is wonderful for curing acne and cooling the face.

All of these ingredients work together to boost hydration and calm any sensitivity. PLUS they are surprisingly refreshing. It has made a big improvement to my skin by using this!

My fave uses are:

During the day to freshen up complexion & protect from environment

Whilst travelling to freshen up on planes, trains and automobiles

To set makeup with 1/2 sprays -this makes skin look dewy and gorgeous!

Post-workouts to cool down and refresh

On the body for moisture on the go!

Fresh Faced (Mask) Beauty!

Now for those of you that haven’t yet visited Lush Cosmetics, you are seriously deprived of natural-beauty goodness!

As many of you know I adore home-made beauty products-both making them myself & purchasing them!

Lush is absolutely my go-to brand for a natural beauty fix and I had to share my favouriteeee Lush product with you beauties!

Their fresh face masks are fabulous!! I was purchasing my normal “Ayesha” face mask from Lush (which is great for evening out skin tone) when I noticed “The Sacred Truth” mask. This was the perfect combination of anti-aging and tightening ingredients so I picked one up for my mum. Little did I know how much I would LOVE this. My mum was raving about this for weeks after I had given it to her.

She said her skin felt so fresh and firm! I just had to try for myself.

After using it only once, I noticed my skin had an instant tightening and brightening effect! My face had never felt so clean before! It was true love! Now I continue buying this wherever I can. The star ingredient in this mask has to be the Papaya.

I love to rub this fruit all over my face and leave on for 5 mins as there are natural AHA’s (alpha-hydroxy acids) which exfoliate the skin and provide anti-aging benefits. Lush have mixed the goodness of papaya with other gorgeous skin-feeding ingredients such as fresh free range eggs (benefits mentioned in my brighten up with egg-whites post), virgin coco oil, green tea powder, bee pollen, fresh wheatgrass, rose lavender and MANY more !

I just can’t get enough of this!

The freshness of this product is unreal, you must keep all their masks refrigerated and each have an expiry date to guarantee the freshness as well as a little picture of the Lush member of staff that hand-created each item. This is a great personal touch!
