Spritz Your Way to Better Skin!

So here’s the deal. Caring for your skin mornings and evenings is definitely a must but what about the rest of the day?

As your skin becomes overheated-which happens easy to me in busy days rushing around like a crazy person :)- your pores tend to enlarge and this is when makeup/dirt can become trapped and cause dull and problematic skin, as well as blackheads.

By spritzing natural toners on the face throughout the day (over makeup), this can close the pores and keep the skin calm and hydrated.
I have had less breakouts with doing this for sure!

As I am always suuuuper busy, I’m on the lookout easy-peasy ways to tone and hydrate my face.
A few months ago, I stumbled upon “Anatomicals Spray Misty for Me Facial Spritz” and I have to say: this.stuff.is.incredible!
It has lived in my purse ever since!

It actually contains a mix of lavender, aloe, peppermint and rose. These are gorgeous natural ingredients for the skin that provide fabulous benefits.

The lavender is ultra-calming and fights bacteria.
Aloe has been found to heal soo many types of skin disorders and improve cell turnover.
Rose is amazing for nourishing, toning and tightening the skin; protecting it from aging.

REQUESTED! How to Wake up to Beautiful, Younger Skin!

Night creams are like a teddy bear for plenty of women…they just can’t sleep without them! Many others just don’t always factor this step into their beauty routine. Looking after skin in the day has become a reflex for most of us, but night time is a whole different matter.

So the question is, are night creams REALLY necessary?

Or is this a beauty myth that the beauty industry is capitalizing on to sell more products?

Well, scientifically speaking, the skin regenerates itself at a much faster rate at night (8 x faster than during the day). Cell regeneration has been found to peak between 2am-4am. Your body temp rises at night which allows all serums, creams and masks to sink deeper into your pores.

If you want anti-aging benefits, then night creams play an ESSENTIAL role in repair, regeneration and prevention. They are actually more concentrated than their daytime counterparts. Applying night creams as early as age 25, can actually help to slow down the aging process. However, if you are just looking for a moisture -boost, then using your fave day cream at night may be sufficient.

I have posted below some of my fave night time skincare that I have had REAL results with.

Oily skins; are lucky as they age more slowly so may not need any anti-aging until later. If you have combi/oily skin, it’s important to choose a cream that is not too heavy as it may aggravate acne-prone skin. A lot of people make the mistake of depriving oily skin of moisture as they think it will make them oilier, but this is just not true. It’s so important to moisturize as without it, the skin can struggle to repair itself.

I don’t know where I’d be without my “Ren ClearCalm 3 Replenishing Clarity Night Serum”. This has been a staple in my collection for years. I discovered this as I used to work for the Ren in my early twenties. My skin was more oily then due to hormones, but it still faded any imperfections or scarring I had (from being naughty & picking my skin!). It kept my combination skin totally under control.

I still swear by this product! I love the texture and the smell. The texture is a mix between a serum, gel and cream that feels so gorgeous on!

If you are searching for younger-looking skin; I highly recommend the “Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate”. This gives such a boost overnight & helps with SO many things. I am in LOVE with this. After only a few uses, you can tell that skin feels baby soft, smooth, plump and bright! It fades any residual marks/scars you have. It has great healing properties.
I love my beauty sleep but if I’m super busy and up until late, this serum is my saviour and hides any sleep deprivation. It’s packed with ultra-hydrating oils and essential fatty acids that plump the surface of the skin and soften wrinkles or laughter lines. Kinda amazing!

I would say this is the little sister of the “Estee Lauder Night Repair Complex”, as the new complex contains more active enzymes and hyaluronic acid to repair and boost moisture. I would recommend that particular one for more mature/dehydrated skin.

For dry skins; try to find a night product that contains natural oils such as monoi oil, coconut oil, rose oil or sweet almond oil. These all provide intense moisture and are suitable for sensitive skins also.

I really like the “Weleda Wild Rose Day Cream” to use at night. The texture is rich and creamy and it’s packed with essential oils. For more intense nourishment, I really like the “Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask”. You can use this twice weekly to get the hydration that you are lusting for! I love this as it’s a natural product filled with orange peel wax, avocado oil, mango butter and apricot kernel oil. It’s like a smoothie for your skin!

For sensitive skins and redness; I like either “La Roche Posay Toleriane Ultra” or “Rosaliac Anti-Redness Moisturizer”. The Tol Ultra is for super sensitive skins that react a lot. It’s nourishing and helps to soothe any irritation as soon as you apply. You can use this on face and under eyes.
The Rosaliac is a light green-tinted formula that relieves discomfort and neutralizes any redness. Both of these can be used as day/night creams. I’ve used both and they are incredible quality for the price!

If you have pigmentation, scarring or dark spots; you’ll love the “Kiehls Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution”. This evens-out skin tone and brightens the complexion.  After I use this I look fresher and younger! It will make such a difference, but you must use this religiously for at least 6 weeks.

Beauty on a Budget / How to keep your body blemish free & fade any marks!

I have had a looot of friends & family asking me how to get rid of break-outs on the back/chest and other body areas.  I have super acne-prone skin and if I don’t look after my skin with the right products, I immediately get small breakouts on my back known as back acne- or backne!

It can be one of the most annoying things to deal with as a woman (or man!), especially when you are no longer in your teenage years. Do not panic my loves because I have found a FABULOUS  solution that has been working for me and kept my body soo clear that I have not had to worry.

What makes this solution even better is that it’s a budget drugstore product!

It makes me soo happy to find excellent products that are affordable to all on a beauty budget!

The Garnier “Pure” range has actually really impressed me in general, but the stand-out product for me has to be the Garnier Pure 3-in-1 Wash Scrub & Mask.

This was designed as a face product, and I do like it on the face, but where it amazeeees me is when I use this on my body!!

I scrub it all over the areas on my body that tend to get blemishes or where I have scars/marks to fade and leave it on for a few minutes while washing my hair.

It has a scrub-like texture with fine granules but also foams up so it is easy to spread. The texture stays on the skin (like a mask!) until you wash it off, so it definitely does what it says on the tin 🙂 .

When you rinse it off, it does not leave your skin dry like many other purifying body products and feels sooo clean.

It contains a super high amount (for a drugstore product) of one of my fave clarifying ingredients- salicylic acid (2%) as well as a blend of other ingredients including eucalyptus and menthol extract which helps to purify & soothe the skin. It fights blackheads, fades marks and scars and reduces any oiliness. I use this sometimes on my face as a blackhead treatment.

Within a week you will see such a BIG improvement. Everyone must try this!

It’s no secret that I love face scrubs! This relates to the fact that I am a teeeny bit of a clean-freak and scrubs just make your face feel super-duper clean and polished!
Exfoliating is something allllll dermatologists and beauty experts rave about because of the importance for healthy,fresh and glowing skin!
On my latest trip to Selfridges, I picked up ” MyChelle Fruit Enzme Scrub” and to be honest….I didn’t have mega high expectations of this.
I always try to choose natural beauty products over any other. I especially like those packed with super-active beautifying ingredients, however natural brands do not always deliver in this department. I like to see & feel the difference of using a product and I am soo happy I found this one.
It was one of those “where has this been all my life?!” kinda experiences.
This product is packed with pectin (fruit enzymes) which are self-dissolving and remove dead skin cells and dirt deep within your pores. Bamboo stem power is another amazing ingredient that prevents future breakouts and jojoba spheres soften skin & allow the enzymes to reach deeper into pores.
The directions say to leave this on for 3-5 minutes for the best benefits.
You can SEE & feel the results instantly but with more uses your skin tone will become so even and clear.
The Result: Baby soft skin & my makeup applies like a dream!

It wasn’t until I used this several times that I really fell in love with it and noticed my skin glowing!

What’s even MORE special is that it is super affordable and suitable for all skin types (especially good for combination skin!).
